MONTANA PI LICENSING DETAILS
A. Application Fee: All fees are non-refundable: $250.00
B. Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
C. Experience Requirements: 3 years.
D. Examination Information: $20 Examination Fee.
The test is administered at the Board's Helena
location and also at a local job service location.
Once your application is approved,
you will receive a letter qualifying you to sit for the exam.
The exam is given at the Board's Helena office or at a local job service.
A Job Service office is located in each of the 23 cities listed below.
Please notify the Board office of the location where you will be
taking the exam at least one week prior to the scheduled date.
23 local job service offices: Anaconda, Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Cut Bank, Dillon, Glasgow,
Glendive, Great Falls, Hamilton, Havre, Helena, Kalispell, Lewistown, Libby, Missoula,
Livingston, Miles City, Poison, Shelby, Sidney, Thompson Falls, and Wolf Point.
E. Annual Renewal
Regular Renewal Dates: January 1st – March 1st
Late Renewal Online for 45 days, until April 15th
F. Renewal fee is $175
G. Other Special License Requirements:
Must maintain a minimum of $500,000.00 occurrence form of commercial
general liability which includes personal injury and errors and omissions coverage.
